When Kingsman: The Secret Service was pushed back a few months from late 2014 to early 2015, I, along with lots of other people got worried. Its usually a bad sign when a film is moved back, especially into January / February. Even so, the trailers did a good job at building my excitement. Fortunately, when I finally got to see Kingsman, I was blown away, and there was one thing that was on my mind throughout. This is what the Bond franchise should be. With the latest instalment Skyfall, the 007 franchise is so far from where it started, and where it should be, so here's a list of reasons Kingsman: The Secret Service is better as a Bond film than Skyfall.

Billy Wilder said that the best director is one you don't see, that if the thing you notice in any given scene is how beautifully it's shot then the director hasn't done his job, because he's making you look at him not the story. Mr Wilder had a point - Mr Wilder always had a point - but there is a counter-argument that gorgeous imagery can make a film, if it sucks you into something magical and transports you somewhere.

007 lists resurrection amongst his hobbies, but speculation is our game today. Your own ideal fantasy James Bond film probably depends on what sort of Bond you're into. If you like serious Bond, you probably consider it a crying shame that Timothy Dalton didn't get to make at least one more film. A fair proportion of the fandom consider Never Say Never Again to be one of the worst of the series, so for them, rolling the dice on a 1976 production with a different actor and a more exciting script would have been worth it.

Believed to be dead, Bond takes a little time off, recuperating in a beachfront shack on Koca Calis Beach, at Fethiye, a coastal town in the southwest of Turkey.
